Rock: Known as ‘Rainforest Jasper’, actually highly silicified Rhyolite (a type of volcanic rock) with inclusions of various minerals, particularly green Celadonite and Bentonite clay. In this specimen ancient volcanic gas bubbles have left cavities which were later filled with common white Opal, while other specimens often feature sharply angular cavities filled with Agate and Quartz. ‘Rainforest Jasper’ is only found in one locality.
